Caribbean Sol is a one-man steel band featuring the musical stylings of Michael Knight. Mike has been a member of the steel bands of the University of South Carolina and the University of North Texas and has performed with numerous professional steel bands. In 1997 he traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to study steel drum music in the country where the instrument was invented. He has performed in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Notable performances include the South Carolina Music Educators Conference in Charleston, SC; the Texas Music Educators Association Conference in San Antonio, TX; and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Nashville, TN.

Mike has been a professional musician for 11 years and holds degrees in music from the University of South Carolina and the University of North Texas. He has performed all across the southeast in a variety of settings such as steel band, rock/pop, jazz, world music, musical theater and Orchestral music.
